Playing chess is a war between the static and the dynamic.
In 1661 Zheng Cheng-gong led an army departing from Kinmen and headed for Fort Zeelandia on Taiwan. He was going to fight with the Dutch who occupied Taiwan at the time.
The main purpose of this game is going to distinguish Chinese chess from Japanese chess. It also takes this opportunity to develop a unique kind of war chess for Taiwan. After a survey of the history and culture of Taiwan, we chose the war between Zheng Cheng-gong and the Dutch for it is one of the critical wars in Taiwan's history.
