An autonomous lighting system with a wide range of applications for outdoor use. The system is modular in design and can be modified depending on requirements. In terms of efficiency the interactive LED illumination is switched immediately by a presence detector when the domain of the light is entered. The energy is obtained from accumulators which are charged using a hand dynamo (or, optionally, solar cells). The system is designed for use in areas which do not have any kind of power infrastructure or where the supply is no longer guaranteed, for example as a practical aid in disaster zones, as path lighting or for camping in the wilderness.
