This participatory game is aimed to raise children’s awarenesses about air qualiry while providing entertainment. Upon the level of Particulate Matter 2.5 data in the U.S., different size of characters are placed on the actual location of the monitoring stations.
Players can kill monsters by clicking on them. After eliminating a certain number of monsters, messages pop up encouraging people to take care of the environment. To test this out I visited Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island and worked with fourth grade children. It was a successful project from both education and entertainment perspectives.
