MAJAN / Furniture

MAJAN
MAJAN

In school we secretly play mahjong in the dormitories a lot with classmates and roommates, but we always had to lower our voices, restraint excited emotions, afraid of the wrath of the housemaster. In our project design we started studying the culture of mahjong, finding out that when sometimes playing cards was allowed, mahjong wasn’t.

MAJAN integrates mahjong tables, mahjong stools, piece ruler, symbol of mahjong, and chips into one set. Multi-functional mahjong table has a surface that is able to flip to its other side, which is covered with mahjong cloth. The side without the cloth can be used as a normal dining table or work table.
