Turn on/turn off differs in nature; Turn on phase needs precise adjustment of amount & TEMP, while turning off must be done instantaneous. According to a physiological principle (the greater the muscle size, the little the precision), the most efficient mechanism to turn on the water is the twisting mechanism, because this involves the elegant muscles of the fingers (instead of ball/disc type faucets which involve forearm muscles; results in waste of huge amounts of water). And the best way to turn off the quickly is the push button. Separating the touching areas of dirty & cleaned hand prevents distribution of disease (esp. in public env.).
