Sheikh's Villa / Single family Villa

Sheikh's Villa
Sheikh's Villa

It’s a real commission by a sheikh in Dubai, U.A.E, to design a family Villa on a normative flat site of about 6882 sqm. Issues of privacy, size of the site and threshold between public and private zones of the villa were the main constraints. I felt the need to separate the public and private zones of the villa but with the help of a threshold that blurs the boundaries between the 2 programmatic zones. From there, i linked air-conditioned spaces with interior-exterior spaces (enclosed but not air-conditioned), to deal with the size of the site. The threshold consists of a large courtyard with an infinity-pool that becomes an object in space.
