The Barnacle is a flexible cyclist visibility device, providing omni-directional visibility. This year-long thesis project was an outcome of looking intensively into the incredible emotional significance of the design process by researching and observing the idiosyncrasies of a commuter cyclist. The resourceful nature of the cyclist became a great director of project research.
From this emerged a playful & engaging biycle light, which the user is encouraged to place anywhere possible on their person or bicycle. Not only does this design promote safety through play, but it allows the user to create, be involved and know they were thought of.
