Augmented reality is the star among user interface designs, as

never get a second chance to make a good first impression." This proverb is
probably nowhere more true than in user interface (UI) design. UI is the first
appearance of a product or service that people see and interact with. The first
few seconds are key to making a lasting impression.
in graphic design, UI is a fascinating discipline that allows designers to
bridge the gap between the real and the digital world. The stakes are high:
user-friendly, intuitive, seamless are just the basic principles of a
successful UI. The realm of what is
possible in UI design is reflected by the winners at this year's iF DESIGN AWARD.

iF DESIGN AWARD winning designs in the new discipline, User Interface, all
follow the one big goal which is to communicate with the user. And there are several
ways to design an excellent user interface: From minimalist designs to bright
colors that appeal to the senses, a simple UI focusing on the core functions
and removing unnecessary distractions is a welcomed trend. And yet, a few
surprising details sprinkled in-between keep users coming back for more.
iF award-winning designs provide the finest in technology. Augmented reality is the star among modern user interface designs, a
futuristic way to bring a UI to life. Add to that interactive illustrations and
animations – and you have a UI that is not only future-oriented but
ground-breaking. To fully explore the possibilities of AR, "IKEA Harajuku"
invented a retail store app that allows people to virtually furnish their homes
before making a purchase. The city guide app "Wu Zhen" incorporates hand-drawn
moving illustrations, and the baby camera app "Pixsee" features a playful
design, but also provides safety for children. Because that’s also part of
excellent UI: offering digital solutions to real-life challenges. In the
medical field, new amazing technologies like the MRI scan "PhilipsSmart
Workflow" and "Huawei Smart Medical Imaging" use the UI to display important
features for the best possible analysis.
All this is to say: designing a great
UI is not just pretty to look at but essential to creating a great digital
experience that enriches our lives in the real world of today and tomorrow.
