Detox in the Bathroom – Three Tipps for a steam bath at home, presented by RepaBAD

As the world outside is getting more and more stressful, people tend to make their living spaces very cozy and homey – safe havens of protection, comfort and relaxation. Speaking of comfort and relaxation, the bathroom plays a crucial role. As statistics show, people tend to spend more time in their bathrooms and use it for small wellness sessions at home.

Apart from flowers, a foam bath, warm colors and fine odors, a very own steam bath adds up to the luxury wellness experience at home – at least for those, who have room for it. German manufacturer repaBAD is a specialist in creating beautiful steam baths for the home.

What requirements are there for a steam bath?

If you want to avoid steam in the whole bathroom, you need a separate, closed space for it. Therefore, apart from the shower floor or basin, you also need a roof and a glass cabin with a tightly closing door. A special steam generator, a place to sit and faucets are also necessary. However, these are the basics – there are much more possibilities.

How to install a steam bath?

Ideally, when installing a steam bath, always mind the ceiling height. There has to be at least 12 centimeters room between the top edge of the glass cabin to the ceiling – otherwise you could not store the technical equipment. But, even in tinier apartments, there are possibilities and solutions for a steam bath. Apart from that, a steam block on the wall is important, to quickly reach the temperature you wish for and, most importantly, to avoid building damages. An additional isolation of the walls is a plus too!

How long should I take a steam bath and what are the health benefits?

A steam bath should last about 15 to 20 minutes. Taking a steam bath means 100 percent air moisture! The 42 to 45 degrees warm steam opens all pores, for toxic substances to vanish via your skin. Through a steam bath your body gets purified and detoxes in an instant. People report of cleaner skin, a better respiratory system and circulation of lymph- and blood.
