Taking care of your body – and mind – is one of the biggest lifestyle trends these days. Lockdown has only accelerated this trend toward more conscious beauty care products, as evidenced by this year’s iF DESIGN AWARDS 2021.
One of the things the pandemic has shown us is how important personal beauty is to our bodies and overall well-being. As hairdressers and nail salons have had to close, people have made an immense effort to groom themselves (thanks, online tutorials!). Personal care and beauty have therefore seen a surge in popularity, and designers are taking this zeitgeist as an opportunity to come up with inventive ideas for a personalized beauty routine.
From personal care products to beauty salons, while the beauty industry was all about looking good on the outside, product designers are placing more and more emphasis on inner beauty. The connection between beauty and (mental) health is finding its way into the industry. If everyone can be themselves and look their best, that's the ultimate goal.
By influencing beauty standards and body images in our society, the beauty industry has a huge responsibility to become more inclusive, diverse and environmentally friendly. many ways new inventions are beautifying our lives:

One of the many inspiring beauty designs is the easy-to-use “FIRST SHAVING SERIES ER-GK20” body trimmer and facial shaver, which won gold. Its sleek design is miles away from an ordinary razor and adds color to any bathroom. “DIVE” is another practical beauty device on the cutting edge of technological possibilities, which allows you to apply various effects to your skin even at home, for example, for a facelift. “Guide Beauty” is an inspiring makeup collection that strives for more inclusion and allows anyone to apply makeup, even with a physical handicap. Another great idea: the service platform “Hitpan” helps people buy the right products based on their personal preferences, using AI and Big Data. All this shows that the beauty industry is ripe for a long-overdue overhaul – customers are demanding it and designers drive this positive evolution with innovative ideas.
