Courage – the province and the Bauhaus

17 Feb - 03 Nov 2019 / UNESCO-Welterbe Fagus-Werk Fagus-Galerie, Hannoversche Straße 58, Alfeld, DE

Walter Gropius is credited with having been an exceptionally farsighted architect; particular proof of this is – apart from the Bauhaus in Dessau – his blueprint of the Fagus factory in Alfelde that even 108 years after having been built, has lost none of its fascination. In the exhibition one learns that Gropius not only designed prototypes of modern industrial construction, but also industrial products such as the “Gropius Adler”. Further protagonists of this enlightening show are Wilhelm Wagenfeld and Marcel Breuer, whose Bauhaus designs are still serially produced in Lower Saxony.
