The iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD is
one of the most important design prizes for students from all over the world,
with about 10,000 submissions each year. Together with our sponsors, iF provides
the platform for talented young designers and their future-oriented concepts.
This time, the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD grew in support and new features for young design talents! We happily welcomed new sponsors: GROHE and Compal Electronics, next to Samsung Electronics, Wonderland, Haier and Dongguan South China Design Innovation Institute.
The competition categories correspond to the Sustainable
Development Goals of the United Nations. That’s the reason why we are looking
for submissions that address the most pressing challenges facing our society.
Once winners have been chosen and the prize money awarded, all winning entries are published here in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE.
The best entries win a share of prize money of EUR 50,000 (in total in 2020).
The registration for the second round is now closed! Stay tuned for the next round.
In 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
This year, our sponsors have the opportunity to select and to focus on a specific Sustainability Development Goal (SDG). In addition, they are free to appoint design experts from their organization to judge the chosen SDG. This round, the following sponsors have committed themselves and appointed experts for the jury:

Students and recent graduates often find it difficult to protect their designs against copyright infringements. Therefore, we recommend the following institutions that can help you with protecting your designs, depending on country or region of origin.
The Trade Mark Designs and Registration Office of the European Union (OHIM), located in Alicante, Spain, offers effective protection against copyright infringement. As soon as your design is registered as a community design, it will be protected in each European Union member state.
