International design experts form the jury of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

The first high profile design experts have confirmed their participation in the jury session of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021. 92 jurors from all over the world will use the opportunity to award the submitted entries with the most innovative power – and perhaps to find the next rising star in the design industry. With the new jury process, we are introducing a new jury structure. From now on, the Chairpersons will guide all judging groups.


The Chairpersons of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

The Chairpersons ensure that all participants of the iF DESIGN AWARD have the same chance of winning. They guide the jurors’ decision-making process and closely monitor the judging groups to guarantee that they are all using the same valuation standards. So when it comes to transparency and objectivity – the Chairpersons are probably the most passionate advocates of the guiding principle that only design quality counts for the results of the competition. They do not evaluate the entries themselves, only in exceptional cases when jurors represent their own products in competition. This creates more capacity for their main task which is to act as consultants and mediators. They are appointed for three years:

The jurors of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

The iF jurors’ task is to give the participants of the iF DESIGN AWARD the most in-depth feedback possible on their submissions. This year they are working for the first time with a newly developed digital iF jury tool, with which a detailed assessment of each entry is recorded and made available to the participants. Their intercultural background boosts the expert discussions and thus ensures the independence of the jury groups. A different mix of experts is invited as jurors each year. This ensures the independence of the jury and brings in fresh perspectives. Design is changing and so should the jury. Here are the jurors who have already confirmed their participation:
