7 tips for communicating your design award

So you won an iF DESIGN AWARD – congratulations! Now it's time to do something with it. To get the most out of your design award, you should make sure that people know you're one of the winners. Here's how to get the word out.

First off: Make a plan.
When you decide to communicate your award, first choose your platform: social media, newsletter or direct press contact. Even better: a combination of all three.

everyone involved.

Ask your team to like and share.

Talk to people in your organization when you plan to communicate your award. Ask them to share social media posts (or comment and like them). Invite them to tell their networks about your success. The more people you get talking, the greater your reach.

TALK
to someone.

Mention us on Twitter for more reach.

In many countries, social media is an important way of connecting with users. But there are a lot of voices on social media, and sometimes it's hard to hear through the noise. If you reach out to someone else with your win, they can congratulate you on it and you've already reached more people.

Contact the right journalist.

Personal contact is best! When reaching out to journalists, it's good to know who to contact. Make a media list with at least 20 journalists working in your field. Here's how.

Contact them with a story idea, and don't forget to mention you won an iF DESIGN AWARD.

Inlcude your website URL

When you do social media or direct PR, make sure to give your audience a chance to find out more about you. Link to your website if you have one, or to your iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE profile. After all, it's another way to tell people that your design has 'made it'.
