Fátima Pombo is an associate professor in design at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). She was also a visiting professor at the University of Leuven (Belgium) in architecture department for many years. Her research, publications and teachings focus primarily on phenomenology, interior architecture, home design history and aesthetics. Pombo participates in international research projects and conferences. Among other things, she publishes in Idea Journal, the Journal of Interior Design, the Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology and Architectoni.ca. She won a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Munich and did research at the University of Heidelberg while working on her doctorate from 1993 to 1995.
