Vita

Maurício Moreira e Silva Bernardes is an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil and vice director of the product development center at the university’s school of engineering. He holds a BA in civil engineering, an MSc and a PhD in construction management, and a post-doctorate degree in design from the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago. Maurício Bernardes’ research areas include project and design management, design methods and product development. He is also the coordinator of the ICD project that aims at enhancing the competitiveness of the Brazilian industry through innovative solutions and design management. (February 2016)
