Good ideas shape the world. Good projects and products change our societies.

Many initiatives and developments contribute to solving the most urgent challenges of our time, thus advancing our societies. However, sometimes even small measures help to improve the welfare of a particular group of people. Public value focuses on social values, on creative approaches and on new ideas and ways to improve existing living conditions.

In the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE with its 1.5 million users from 190 countries we want to offer a platform for these projects and products.

The iF PUBLIC VALUE AWARD 2017 recognizes initiatives in all parts of the world. Companies and other organizations get the chance to use the world-renowned seal of quality to publicize their success. Their work will be assessed by an expert jury and they will receive the iF scorecard – the professional evaluation of their public value project – and other efficient benefits.

There is a special offer for initiatives that are not in a position to pay the participation fee of EUR 950: Introduce your project or product in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE and together we will try and find a sponsor who will pay the fee for you.

3. Does it strengthen group relations?

For projects:
- Sensitivity for local cultural traditions and power relations
- Concern for common goals and the collective
- Addressing social conflict through dialogue with different groups (e.g. age, sex, political attitudes,...)

4. Does it create a positive experience?

For projects:
- Positive experience and fun
- Aesthetical and hedonistic potential
