Emma / Emma // scale lamp

Emma

Scales, untouched place holders that fulfil their use only for short moments.

Objective of this work is the creation of a product in a playful way, a cocktail of functionality, aesthetics and interaction. The mechanics of a hanging spring dynamometer is the basis and is extended by a luminous body. Serves as a hanger hook and gets delivered by a given contact area is a useful add-on. Light intensity and mass have a close relationship. The heavier the property to be weighed is, the more the transluzente scale
widens in the vertical and gives atmospheric light free.

Emma, a kitchen scale that thinks beyond the pure
measuring process.
