ITRI MediRobot is an intuitively operated robotic assistant used to lift and transfer patients with limited mobility. While traditional lifters require considerable physical effort from the caregiver and have to be used in combination with an extra wheelchair to transport the patient, the servo-controlled ITRI MediRobot enables caregivers to fully concentrate on the patient while moving him without physical strains. The device body provides the caregiver with information on the patient’s weight and blood pressure collected via sensors on the sling. To the patient it serves as intuitive infotainment terminal with variable content to choose from.
