mika / Paper towels rack

mika

For the one thing a main idea during the development of the paper towels rack ‘mika’ is a consequent reduced and understandable designlanguage and for another thing a production which avails renewable resources. Inspired by traditional Japanese wood-connection-technic a simple plug connection is designed of 3 overlapping squared timber with equal profiles. The two horizontal axis form the basis for the paper towels which is placed in the middle by one vertical axis. By extending the vertical axis below the horizontal axis mika offers its service to the user.
