The thesis describes the conception and creation of the exhibition Hör!Spiel!, which presents the 80 year old history of broadcasting from a new point of view. Via the visions and utopias of people who dealt with radio, we are approaching a medium which is far more than a technical device for bare information transfer.
Original sound documents serve as our sole exhibits. The design of the showrooms incorporates the most distinctive characteristic of radio: to communicate only via audio signals and to supply no visual stimulus. Thus it was an important task to develop a visual language which on the one hand supports the sound and on the other hand stimulates the visitors imagination. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of the exhibition, we exemplarily created the actual interactive installation Der Du Da Bist.
