Thermomax have designed the first reliable "plug and play" solar thermal collector capable of installation by a single individual. Solar tubes are simply plugged into the manifold and secured by a unique clip system requiring no further tools. A push-fit rubber strip retained on the bottom cover pushes into the lid creating an environmental seal; punched holes along this strip complete the seal against the tube necks during installation. Time and skill requirements needed to commission the system are therefore reduced, increasing installer safety and decreasing end-user costs. End of life recycling of component materials from this solar collector are made simple by the modular design. The system boasts an optical efficiency +80% for sunlight conversion to useful thermal energy refined using mathematical and 3D CAD models during design.
