Discipline: Communication

Kick-off brochure for the campaign “nrw liest,” aimed at getting more young people to read. This low-budget production was supposed to launch the basic idea of the campaign. The pictures show kids, deeply lost in their books, at highlight locations in North Rhine-Westphalia. Jenny is an astronaut getting ready for take-off at the Bottrop Tetraeder, Charlotte is dreaming of being a pirate in the Düsseldorf Mediahafen, Christos is reading about being a kicker in the football stadium “Auf Schalke.” From the simple logo to the coarse paper the whole package communicates a no-kitsch simplicity, even the typography originates from the modern communication tools the young audience is most used to … it’s a pixel font used for mobile short message systems.
