The central element of the installation was the “Media Cloud”, 28,000 points of light, which hovered at a height of 3 to 4 meters.
The construction consisted of plastic tubes, which were terminated by satin-frosted plastic diffusers. A central computer controlled the light of the RGB light-emitting diodes installed behind the diffusers. The o2 exhibit was distinguished by another feature: For the duration of the exhibition, a radio station went on the air and online directly from the exhibition stand. The radio station was interactively connected to the screen: One could feed images and text into the current image sequences. o2 used the radio station primarily to draw attention to its digital music offerings, one of the central messages of the tradeshow exhibit.
