Pelican / Craft Scissor

Pelican

Pelican is a craft scissor inspired from pelican's beak, which has ability to "contain" as it can cut a sheet o without touching the edges of it. During craft exercises, kids have to cut in between the sheets e.g. cutting out a circle, to cut out a complex shape which is difficult with existing products.

Pelican is designed to serve as a conventional scissor, giving an advantage of comfortably cutting inside edges in various sheet materials. Aesthetic and technical refinement of the concept with minimizing its complexity is considered. Metaphor of a pelican is captured to create interest among kids.
