Zigzag Door / Public Design

Zigzag Door
Zigzag Door

Subway in a rush hour would be one of the most congested area in the world. Tons of pushing and shoving during everyday commutes makes a life in metropolis stressful and exhausting. Especially, pushing and shoving in fronts of doors is so severe that it often leads to serious injuries.

Zigzag door, asymmetric placement of chairs and doors, is able to disperses the traffic between doors to each direction. Furthermore, asymmetric placement of seats presents window scenery to passenger rather than eye contact with stranger.
