a minute of silence. / memorial candle holder

a minute of silence.
a minute of silence.

a minute of silence. is a memorial candle that is designed based on the study of the awkwardness of silence during
memorial services, where the people present are expected to pay respects to the decease through a moment of
silence. Providing a visual cue of the candle fully burnt out allows the users to gain a sense of indication that the time
is up and to proceed with resuming the memorial service.

At the same time, the ephemeral quality of candles allows the bereaved to gain a sense of acceptance and closure,
and understand the fact that life must go on.
