This incense ware conveys how modern people need to cultivate body and mind through introspection based on the story of Pinocchio and “Every day I Examine Myself on Three Points” in Book 1 of the Analects of Confucius.
Quoting the line “Pinocchio’s nose will become longer when he is lying and will be shorter when he’s honest”, it shows the idea that “the More Honest, the More Scented.” since the incense stick becomes shorter as it burns. This conveys the interesting idea that the shorter the nose is, the more honest you are, which is used mainly to make people do a self- introspection.
