Eight Inc. and Nike partnered up to launch basketball star Carmelo Anthony’s new M8 Jordan Brand Sneaker with an interactive, low-budget pop-up shop in New York. Inspiration was the player himself; the exterior of the installation mimics his explosive athletic talent on court, displayed by the shattered and diverging basketball floorboards. Melo M8 Sneakers and apparel hang throughout the planks on which quotes are cited. Anthony’s calm demeanor off the court can be experienced inside the installation; two concave white walls display video footage that is describing him as a person – not just the player – and what drives and inspires him.
