COMPUTEX d&i awards

These elegant crafted multi-touch devices are composed of tempered glass, a metal base and electronic components.
The design has no moving parts and uses a touch screen technology known as FTIR or Frustrated Total Internal Reflection.
Infrared LEDs are placed at the edge of the glass. As the light impacts the internal glass surface, it bounces around inside the glass. When the glass is touched, it frustrates the reflection and the IR light is diffused downward, out of the glass, to be captured by the cameras and interpreted in software.
