You can instantly find more than two dozen objects that you would still like to have today, or, at the very least, would still liked to have until recently: design classics because their usability and beauty were valued over four decades, or have become evident in retrospect and products that, in the long history of design, were pioneers and that have therefore, in some way, maintained their original freshness.
Obviously, the then jurors including the Danish designer Count Bernadotte and Arnold Bode, the inventor of Dokumenta were tolerant enough to select from the more than 200 entries also those products that simply had the potential to raise awareness for the subject of design in different industrial sectors, for example in mechanical engineering.
